Jesus answered them, Did not I choose you the twelve, and one of you is a devil?
and saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, {Psalm 41:11, 12}He shall give his angels charge concerning thee:and,On their hands they shall bear thee up,Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone.
None of his transgressions that he hath committed shall be remembered against him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
Now there were some present at that very season who told him of the Galilæans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
And he answered and said unto them, Think ye that these Galilæans were sinners above all the Galilæans, because they have suffered these things?
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all in like manner perish.
Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were {Greek: debtors.}offenders above all the men that dwell in Jerusalem?
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth.
