No man hath seen God at any time; {Many very ancient authorities read God only begotten.}the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
the same came unto him by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that thou doest, except God be with him.
And no one hath ascended into heaven, but he that descended out of heaven, even the Son of man, {Many ancient authorities omit who is in heaven.}who is in heaven.
Come, see a man, who told me all things that ever I did: can this be the Christ?
The sick man answered him, {Or, Lord}Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
For no man doeth anything in secret, {Some ancient authorities read and seeketh it to be known openly.}and himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world.
They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come.
And he said unto them, Go and say to that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third day I {Or, end my course}am perfected.
The officers answered, Never man so spake.
And Jesus lifted up himself, and said unto her, Woman, where are they? did no man condemn thee?
No one {Some ancient authorities read took it away}taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have {Or, right}power to lay it down, and I have {Or, right}power to take it again. This commandment received I from my Father.
Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new tomb wherein was never man yet laid.
