Versliste
We have a little sister,And she hath no breasts:What shall we do for our sisterIn the day when she shall be spoken for?
If she be a wall,We will build upon her {Or, battlements}a turret of silver:And if she be a door,We will inclose her with boards of cedar.
I {Or, was}am a wall, and my breasts like the towers thereof Then was I in his eyes as one that found peace.
He measured it {Hebrew: toward the four winds.}on the four sides: it had a wall round about, the length five hundred, and the breadth five hundred, to make a separation between that which was holy and that which was common.
knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers;
but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the blood of Christ:
being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
whom God set forth {Or, to be propitiatory}to be a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime, in the forbearance of God;
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
So he built the house, and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and {Hebrew: rows.}planks of cedar.
And he built the stories against all the house, each five cubits high: and {Or, he fastened the house}they rested on the house with timber of cedar.
When thou goest forth to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, thou shalt not be afraid of them; for Jehovah thy God is with thee, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
And it shall be, when ye draw nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,
and shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye draw nigh this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint; fear not, nor tremble, neither be ye affrighted at them;
for Jehovah your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.
And what man is there that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not used the fruit thereof? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man use the fruit thereof.
And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.
And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and faint-hearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren's heart melt as his heart.
And it shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking unto the people, that they shall appoint captains of hosts at the head of the people.
When thou drawest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.
And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that are found therein shall become {Or, subject to taskwork}tributary unto thee, and shall serve thee.
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength:Who hath hardened himself against him, and prospered?—
{Or, Salute ye Jerusalem}Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: {Or, May they}They shall prosper that love thee.
Peace be within thy walls,And prosperity within thy palaces.
Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will {Or, give it them}place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
