Versliste
Canst thou hunt the prey for the lioness,Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
When they couch in their dens,And abide in the covert to lie in wait?
Who provideth for the raven his prey,When his young ones cry unto God, And wander for lack of food?
Canst thou hunt the prey for the lioness,Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
When they couch in their dens,And abide in the covert to lie in wait?
Who provideth for the raven his prey,When his young ones cry unto God, And wander for lack of food?
He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; In the secret places doth he murder the innocent; His eyes are privily set against the {Or, hapless}helpless.
He lurketh in secret as a lion in his covert; He lieth in wait to catch the poor:He doth catch the poor, when he draweth him in his net.
The young lions roar after their prey,And seek their food from God.
He giveth to the beast his food,And to the young ravens which cry.
These wait all for thee,That thou mayest give them their food in due season.
Thou givest unto them, they gather;Thou openest thy hand, they are satisfied with good.
Consider the ravens, that they sow not, neither reap; which have no store-chamber nor barn; and God feedeth them: of how much more value are ye than the birds!
