Versliste
Behold, God is great, and we know him not;The number of his years is unsearchable.
For he draweth up the drops of water,Which distil in rain {Hebrew: belonging to.}from {Or, the vapor thereof}his vapor,
Which the skies pour downAnd drop upon man abundantly.
Yea, can any understand the spreadings of the clouds,The thunderings of his pavilion?
Who causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;Who maketh lightnings for the rain;Who bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries;
seek him that maketh the Pleiades and Orion, and turneth {Or, deep darkness}the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night; that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth (Jehovah is his name);
that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.
And yet He left not himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.
And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a cloud out of the sea, as small as a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, {Or, Yoke}Make ready thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
He made darkness his hiding-place, his pavilion round about him,Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
Clouds and darkness are round about him:Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
