Versliste
Behold, I know your thoughts,And the devices wherewith ye would wrong me.
For ye say, Where is the house of the prince?And where is the tent wherein the wicked dwelt?
Have ye not asked wayfaring men?And do ye not know their evidences,
That the evil man is {Or, spared in &c.}reserved to the day of calamity?That they are {Or, led away in &c.}led forth to the day of wrath?
Who shall declare his way to his face?And who shall repay him what he hath done?
For if God spared not angels when they sinned, but {Or, cast them into dungeons}cast them down to {Greek: Tartarus.}hell, and committed them to {Some ancient authorities read chains. Compare Wisd. 17:17.}pits of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
{Greek: Judas.}Jude, a {Greek: bondservant.}servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of {Or Jacob}James, {Or, to them that are beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ, being called}to them that are called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:
A brutish man knoweth not;Neither doth a fool understand this:
When the wicked spring as the grass,And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish;It is that they shall be destroyed for ever.
He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life; but he that {Or, believeth not}obeyeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
