Versliste
Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger,Shall the earth be forsaken for thee?Or shall the rock be removed out of its place?
Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out,And the {Or, flame}spark of his fire shall not shine.
The light shall be dark in his tent,And his lamp {Or, beside}above him shall be put out.
The steps of his strength shall be straitened,And his own counsel shall cast him down.
He hath torn me in his wrath, and {Or, hated}persecuted me;He hath gnashed upon me with his teeth:Mine adversary sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
{Or, How oft is the lamp of the wicked put out, And how oft cometh their calamity upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger. They are as stubble…away.}How oft is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out? That their calamity cometh upon them? That God distributeth sorrows in his anger?
The spirit of man is the lamp of Jehovah,Searching all his innermost parts.
His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; In that very day his {Or, purposes}thoughts perish.
