But if any man buildeth on the foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble;
each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; {Or, and each man's work, of what sort it is, the fire shall prove it.}and the fire itself shall prove each man's work of what sort it is.
And I also say unto thee, that thou art {Greek: Petros.}Peter, and upon this {Greek: petra.}rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
According to the grace of God which was given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder I laid a foundation; and another buildeth thereon. But let each man take heed how he buildeth thereon.
For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things done {Greek: though.}in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.
Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have {Many ancient authorities read not found thy works.}found no works of thine perfected before my God.
whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ;
One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after:That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,To behold {Or, the pleasantness}the beauty of Jehovah,And to {Or, consider his temple}inquire in his temple.
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work.
