Versliste
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
And of the angels he saith, {Psalm 104:4}Who maketh his angels winds,And his ministers a flame of fire:
Who maketh {Or, his angels winds}winds his messengers;Flames of fire his ministers;
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?
For our wrestling is not against {Greek: blood and flesh.}flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
For no prophecy ever {Greek: was brought.}came by the will of man: but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet they lean upon Jehovah, and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? no evil shall come upon us.
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men edification, and {Or, comfort}exhortation, and consolation.
