For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
Oh clap your hands, all ye peoples;
Shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
For {Or, Jehovah is most high and terrible}Jehovah Most High is terrible;
He is a great King over all the earth.
He subdueth peoples under us,
And nations under our feet.
He chooseth our inheritance for us,
The glory of Jacob whom he {Or, loveth}loved. [Selah
God is gone up with a shout,
Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises:
Sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth:
Sing ye praises {Or, in a skilful psalm Hebrew: Maschil.}with understanding.
God reigneth over the nations:
God sitteth upon his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples are gathered together
{Or, Unto the people}To be the people of the God of Abraham;
For the shields of the earth belong unto God:
He is greatly exalted.
Querverweise zu Psalm 47,7 Ps 47,7
For {Or, Jehovah is most high and terrible}Jehovah Most High is terrible;He is a great King over all the earth.
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
God reigneth over the nations:God sitteth upon his holy throne.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
And Jehovah shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall Jehovah be one, and his name one.
Let the word of {Some ancient authorities read the Lord: others, God.}Christ dwell in you {Or, richly in all wisdom; teaching &c.}richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing {Or, yourselves}one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God.
And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed great voices in heaven, and they said,The kingdom of the world is become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ: and he shall reign {Greek: unto the ages of the ages}for ever and ever.
